Gimin Taiko of Aoki village, Nagano is coming to Ireland!
Gimin Taiko was created in memory of the achievements of the former Gimin - leaders of uprisings who were accused and executed by the lord to protect local farmers in the late 17th - 19th century . In Aoki village, there were more uprisings than the other parts of Japan, which tells us they are quite rebellious 'like the Irish'!
Team Komayumi, who have won Taiko championships several times throughout Japan. We are delighted to perform first time in Emerald Isle this summer!
